THE 7 RESPONSE~ABILITIES OF HEALTH-WEALTH INVESTMENTManaging your personal wealth includes maximizing your health and energy. In the book Dynamic Health (Insight, 2003), Dr. Craig Overmyer, managing director and director of coaching at Canterbury, suggests a daily practice for focusing on your health and wealth. By taking 10 minutes a day to focus on "conscious presence,"� you'll soon discover a newfound creativity and insight into making decisions about your life. 1. Be still; wait patiently for the organizing power of wholenessThe very nature of life is a balance of rest and activity. By practicing stillness and learning to wait patiently, a renewed organizing power and energy will naturally result. Are your health decisions fulfilling and in alignment with the highest possible outcome for your overall health and well-being? 2. Intentionally declare your wants; expect needed supportYou have free will to make a multitude of decisions about what you want. Even if you don't get what you want, you may need to realize you're getting what you need. Are you making health decisions today based on what you want or on what you need? 3. Surrender old, ineffective patterns, but never give upSome habits and patterns give life, and some take away from life. Be willing to examine your patterns, surrendering any life-damaging thoughts, feelings, and actions, but never giving up on new disciplines. Will you let go of destructive unhealthy patterns and begin new healthy ones? 4. Take a courageous stand; affirm your most cherished valuesBy taking a stand for your health, you can face many challenges and tests. Be courageous to live your most cherished values. No one can take them away, and you'll be amazed at how energized you become by living your healthy faith. Will you make health choices today that are in alignment with your most cherished values? 5. Just do the next spontaneous right action, guided by the heartWith your values prioritized and your life purpose understood, set simple, measurable goals for your health today - just today. Make sure your heart guides you. Are you simply focused on immediate goals that fit in with your long-term vision of health and well-being? 6. Honor your renewed health energy; express joy always and everywhereGive thanks for all of life, including the troubles. Notice the joy of life, even if you're in the midst of a tough time. Be open to the lessons. Practice enduring joy for all things. How will you celebrate the health you have today? 7. Energetically serve others; be an awesome presence of loveGet outside of your own health concerns and serve others, without regard for the outcome. Research shows that by helping others, you immediately improve your own health. Who needs your care and concern today? Now that you've considered these 7 Response~abilities, take some time to list any insights you've gained about your experience of health today.
